Main stages of the tour.

–Overview of the route

As soon as you arrive at the airport, you will be welcomed and taken to the Britania hotel in Miraflores. Night at the hotel. Note that on this first day of the Peru tour there is generally no activity, as flights often arrive in the evening in Lima. But if your flight arrives earlier, a visit of Lima can be scheduled.

Lima is far more than just the starting point of a trip to Peru: it is a capital of nearly 9 million inhabitants, both modern and rich in history. You will visit the colonial center, listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site, and the wealthy modern district of Miraflores overlooking the Pacific Ocean. You will then depart in a first-class bus along the coast towards the seaside resort of Paracas where you will arrive in the late afternoon. Night at the La Posada del Emancipador hotel.

In the morning, boarding for a tour of the Ballestas Islands, sometimes called the Galapagos of Peru because of the abundant wildlife these islands are home to: many sea lions but also cormorants, pelicans, penguins and many other birds.

You then leave in a first-class bus towards Nazca where you will settle in at the Casa Andina Classic hotel. In the middle of the afternoon, excursion to Palpa and its geoglyphs. Less well known than the Nazca lines, these figures were drawn around the same period, more than 1000 years ago. On the way, you can climb an observation tower to see two figures belonging to the Nazca lines. Night at the Casa Andina.

In the morning, if you wish, you can take a half-hour flight to observe the famous lines of Nazca (optional, not included in the price shown).

In the afternoon, for the last coastal stage of your Peru tour, you will reach Arequipa in a first-class bus. On your arrival in the evening, you will be transferred to the Casa Andina Classic hotel, in the historic center of the city. Optional: if you do not wish to take the overflight of the lines, you can visit the Chauchilla cemetery and its pre-Hispanic mummies or the Cahuachi archaeological complex.

A day devoted to discoveringArequipa, the second largest city in Peru and one of the most pleasant of the trip, located between the coastal desert and the Andean plateaus, at an intermediate altitude of 2300 meters.

In the morning, guided tour of the city, its colonial center with the famous Santa Catalina monastery, the cloisters of the Compañía, the San Camilo market, the Yanahuara district, and the Carmen Alto viewpoint over the city and its 3 volcanoes. Free afternoon to enjoy the charm of the city. Night at the Casa Andina Classic.

You can replace this visit of Arequipa with a rafting descent of the Chili river or a Peruvian cooking class.

Departure in the morning towards the canyon du Colca, one of the deepest in Peru and in the world, famous for its condors. You will first pass through the Aguada Blanca nature reserve on the altiplano, where you will see llamas, alpacas and vicuñas, and climb up to 4900 meters of altitude, the highest point of your trip to Peru!

You will be in Chivay, in the Colca valley, for lunch (not included). In the afternoon, you can take a short walk and enjoy the hot springs pools (entrance not included, about 4 US$). Night at the Eco Inn hotel.

In the morning, departure for one of the highlights of this Peru tour. You will follow the Colca valley to the Cruz del Condor, from where a magnificent view of the canyon, more than 1000 meters deep here, opens up. You will probably be able to spot the condors that generally fly over this part of the canyon.

In the afternoon, you take a tourist bus towards Puno. You will cross a large part of the Peruvian altiplano and arrive at the end of the day. Located on the shore of lac Titicaca, at an altitude of 3800 meters, Puno is the highest stop of your trip. Transfer and night at the Hacienda Plaza hotel.

In the morning, off-the-beaten-track excursion on the shores of Lake Titicaca. We will head towards the Socca peninsula, far from the traditional tourist routes of Peru, and cross Aymara Indian villages and communities living off agriculture. We will take a short walk of about two hours that will offer us some breathtaking views over Lake Titicaca. We will enjoy a picnic in nature before returning to Puno in the early afternoon.

This excursion is an alternative to the classic tour on Lake Titicaca, which offers a visit of the Amantani ou Taquile islands and the floating Uros islands, which are considerably more touristy.

A day of transfer to Cuzco by tourist bus. You will make several stops and visits along the way, at Pukara, where an altiplano civilization that preceded the Incas developed, at the La Raya pass (4370 meters), where the Cuzco region begins, at the Inca site of the Viracocha temple and at Andahuaylillas, a pretty village home to one of the loveliest churches in the region. You arrive in Cuzco, one of the loveliest cities in Peru, in the late afternoon. Check-in at the San Agustin Internacional hotel, in the historic heart of the city.

It is also possible to make this trip by train, but we recommend the bus trip instead, which is faster and allows for interesting stops and visits.

Capital of the Inca empire, Cuzco is one of the not-to-be-missed wonders of any trip to Peru. In the morning, drive up to the Cristo Blanco statue overlooking the city of Cuzco. From there you will discover one of the most impressive Inca constructions, Sacsayhuaman, where colossal stones interlock with astonishing precision. The descent to the city will be done on foot through the narrow, steep streets of the pretty San Blas district, then past the walls of the old Inca palaces and the famous 12-angled stone. You will then head to the main market of Cuzco, where you can breathe in the Andean identity and living culture of the city. The afternoon will be free to enjoy the charm of the city. Night at the hotel.

This half-day walking tour (easy downhill and flat walk) is an alternative to the more classic tour by vehicle, which includes visits of the Koricancha (temple of the sun) and 3 other small Inca sites: Kenko, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay. Please let us know your preference.

This day of your trip to Peru will be devoted to discovering the Sacred Valley of the Incas. In the morning, you will visit the Inca site of Pisaq, one of the largest in the region, as well as the craft market of the same village. In the afternoon, you will visit the Inca village of Ollantaytambo and its fortress. Night at the Samanapaq hotel.

This is without a doubt the most eagerly awaited day of your trip to Peru: the discovery of Machu Picchu! You will leave early in the morning by train, following the Urubamba river, to Aguas Calientes (also called Machu Picchu Pueblo), from where the bus takes you to the Machu Picchu site. Rediscovered a little over a century ago, this Inca city retains its mysteries and continues to fascinate all travelers. A few hours on the site will allow you to discover its main corners, and possibly climb up to Huayna Picchu. Return by bus to Aguas Calientes then by train to Ollantaytambo in the afternoon. Transfer and night at the hotel.

Departure in the morning by private vehicle towards the village of Moray. On a plateau overlooking the sacred valley, you will discover the amazing concentric agricultural terraces from the Inca era. Very close by, the Maras salt pans, still worked today, offer a spectacular landscape of thousands of salt pools. You will finally visit the village of Chinchero, dominated by a beautiful Spanish church, built on a former Inca site. Return to Cuzco in the early afternoon. Free end of the day and night at the hotel.

There's nothing like a free day to gently end your trip and to enjoy this magnificent city of Cuzco. Whether it is to stroll through its charming little streets, discover museums on Inca history, browse the small shops offering colorful and rich craftwork, eat in a restaurant next to an Inca wall, or simply feel the very particular atmosphere of this city, both very Andean and, through tourism, cosmopolitan, Cuzco offers a unique setting to end your trip and bid your farewells to Peru. Night at your hotel.

Transfer to the airport of Cuzco to take your flight to Lima. End of our services and of your trip to Peru "From the coast to the Andes"! Connection with your international flight.

In case your international flight departs in the morning, an extra night in Lima should be added.
