On your arrival in Lima, transfer from the airport to the Hotel Britania. Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning, excursion to the Ballestas Islands, a nature reserve where you can observe Peru's marine wildlife: sea lions, cormorants, pelicans and even penguins. Back on dry land, you depart by superior-category bus towards Nazca. Arrival in Nazca in the afternoon and transfer to the Hotel Casa Andina Classic, a pleasant establishment with a pool. Overnight at the hotel.
Optional: possibility of taking the flight over the Nazca lines.
Departure in the morning through the Nazca desert by specially adapted buggy. You will get to know the archaeological site of Cahuachi in the middle of the desert and can try your hand at sandboarding on the immense sand dunes. Return to the hotel, then transfer to the bus terminal for a journey to Arequipa by superior-category bus in the early afternoon. Arrival in Arequipa late in the evening and transfer to the Hotel Casa Andina Classic.
Rafting: Around 8am, departure from the hotel by vehicle towards the Río Chili for 2 hours of rafting on the river, through beautiful scenery. The turbulent sections (level 3 to 4) will add some thrills to the ride. Return to the hotel around noon, with a free afternoon in Arequipa. Overnight at the hotel.
Early in the morning, departure for the Colca canyon and lunch in the village of Cabanaconde. You then begin your trek by descending into the Colca canyon along a vertiginous path that will take you to the edge of the river, 1000 meters below. Dinner and overnight in a refuge (basic comfort) in the village of San Juan.
In the morning, you continue your Peru Adventure trip on the north bank of the Colca where you will pass through the villages of Malata and Cosñirhua, then descend again towards the Colca river and have lunch at the Oasis. You can rest there and swim in the pools before climbing back up to Cabanaconde in the afternoon (careful, 1000 meters of elevation gain!). Dinner and overnight at the hotel (simple hotel, private bathroom and hot water).
Early lunch, then head to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint, from where you will see from above the entire trek you have completed. You will enjoy a sweeping view over the canyon, here more than 1000 meters deep, and can admire the magnificent sight of the condors in flight, which nest in the canyon cliffs and take off every morning. After the final lunch in Chivay, you leave the Colca and return to Arequipa in the late afternoon. Overnight at the Hotel Casa Andina Classic.
The trip continues and takes you today to Puno, crossing the Peruvian altiplano where you can see many herds of llamas and alpacas. Arrival in Puno in the early afternoon, a town located on the shores of lac Titicaca. Transfer to the Hotel Hacienda Plaza, with the rest of the day free. Overnight at the hotel.
Optional, visit to the archaeological site of Sillustani and its "chullpas" or pre-Hispanic funerary towers overlooking the Umayo lagoon.
This day of the trip is dedicated to lac Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. You leave in the morning for the Socca peninsula, to discover the splendid landscapes of the lake and the rural Aymara communities that live there, far from traditional tourist routes. You will take a short hike of about 2 hours there with some extraordinary views over the lake, shared between Peru and Bolivia. Return to Puno around midday. In the afternoon, you set off by kayak on Lake Titicaca. You will cross the reed beds to the Uros floating islands. After visiting the islands, return by kayak to Puno in the late afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning, departure by superior-category bus towards Cuzco. After about 6 hours of travel across the altiplano and through the Andean Vilcanota valley, arrival in Cusco, capital of the Inca empire. Transfer to the Hotel San Agustin Internacional, located in the historic center of the city. Free late afternoon and overnight at the hotel.
Free morning to enjoy the charm of Cuzco, one of the must-visit cities of any trip to Peru. In the afternoon, visit the cocoa museum "ChocoMuseo" located right in the center of the city, to take part in a workshop where you will make your own chocolate from local cacao. Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning, departure by vehicle to the sacred valley of the Incas, between the villages of Urubamba and Ollantaytambo, for a via ferrata excursion, a highlight of this Peru Adventure trip. Your guide will give you the equipment and safety instructions and you will climb a 300-meter rock face on the via ferrata. After a picnic at the top, you will descend part of the rock face by rappel. Return to Cuzco in the afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning, departure by vehicle to Cruzpata, where you will meet your guide for the day. The trip now continues by mountain bike, along small paths across the Maras plateau, which overlooks the sacred valley, to the Inca amphitheaters of Moray. You then cross the village of Maras and head to the salt pans, worked by hand since pre-Hispanic times up to today. In the afternoon, you will continue through the sacred valley, to the village of Ollantaytambo at the foot of its Inca fortress (visit not included). Free end of day and overnight at the Hotel Samanapaq.
The trip has been building and we finish with the best, the highlight of any trip to Peru, the visit to Machu Picchu. You will leave early in the morning by train to Aguas Calientes, from where a bus will take you up to the site. You will have several hours to explore the most famous of the Inca cities and marvel at the surrounding landscapes. Return by train in the afternoon and transfer to the Hotel San Agustín Internacional in Cuzco. Overnight at the hotel.
