Itinerary: Lima - Huaraz - Trujillo - Chiclayo - Lima

Around midday, departure by premium-class bus to Huaraz. Arrival in Huaraz in the evening and transfer to Hotel El Patio de Monterrey. Overnight at the hotel.
Morning departure toward the upper part of the Callejón de Huaylas, between the black and white cordilleras. Along the way, you will stop at Recuay, a charming typical village in the valley. You then head up into the Cordillera Blanca toward Nevado Pastoruri. You will stop to discover the "Puya Raimondi", an enormous high-altitude cactus, and naturally sparkling mineral water springs. The vehicle will take you to an altitude of nearly 4700 meters. You will hike up to a viewpoint at 5000m, from where you will have a splendid view of Nevado Pastoruri and its glacier. You then descend back into the valley and return to Huaraz in the evening. Overnight at the hotel.
Morning departure through the "callejón de Huaylas", the valley that separates the black cordillera from the white cordillera. You will make several stops in the main villages of the valley, such as Carhuaz. The road offers some superb viewpoints over Nevado Huascarán, the highest peak in Peru (6778 meters), and Nevado Huandoy. You then head up into the Cordillera Blanca and enter Huascarán National Park to reach Llanganuco Lagoon, with its turquoise waters amid a magnificent mountain landscape. After lunch in Caraz (not included), visit the village of Yungay, which was buried under a mudslide in 1970. Return to Huaraz in the evening. Transfer to the bus terminal to take a premium-class night bus to Trujillo.
Arrival in Trujillo very early in the morning and transfer to Hotel Los Conquistadores, where a room will be available for you. After breakfast, departure for a visit to the main archaeological sites of the Moche and Chimu civilizations: Huaca de la Luna and Huaca del Sol, pyramid-like structures made up of several platforms built with hundreds of millions of adobes (sun-dried mud bricks) that were once decorated with polychrome bas-relief murals, and the ruins of Chan-Chan, an immense site also built of mud bricks. Free afternoon in the pleasant colonial city of Trujillo. Overnight at the hotel.
Early in the morning, departure by bus for a journey of nearly 3 hours through the coastal desert. Arrival in Chiclayo, from where you set off with your guide to visit the pyramid complex of Túcume and the Royal Tombs of Sipán Museum in Lambayeque. The discovery of the tomb of the Lord of Sipán and its goldsmith treasures is considered the most important find in Peru in the last 50 years. Overnight at Hotel Costa del Sol.
In the afternoon, transfer to the airport to take your flight to Lima. Transfer and overnight at Hotel Britania.
Optional: In the morning, departure by private vehicle with your guide to visit Huaca Rajada (the archaeological complex where the tomb of the Lord of Sipán was discovered).
