Beyond Machu Picchu, Peru is brimming with other reasons to set off.
Plan your trip to Peru with our Peru travel agency.
You can travel to Peru at any time of year, each season with its own advantages. Two factors are worth considering: climate and tourist numbers.
On the coast, summer runs from December to March, sunny and pleasant; the rest of the year it doesn't rain, but the sky is often overcast. In the Andes, December to March is the rainy season (regular showers, but no monsoon), while the rest of the year is dry and sunny, with cooler nights between June and August. See month-by-month details on our Climate in Peru page.
The low season runs from December to February (excluding the year-end holidays); the high season covers April, May, and July to October; March, June and November see average attendance.
December to March: low season, more availability and better prices, but a higher risk of rain in the mountains — best avoided for treks. April-May and September-November: drier weather, with some rain still possible. June to August: almost no rain, but cold nights at altitude.
