Good evening Arnaud,
It's been 15 days since we returned from this fabulous tour of Bolivia and I want to thank you for its perfect organization. Everything came together to make this trip an unforgettable memory. Pierrick, your local contact in La Paz, was fantastic. His addresses, advice and recommendations were a real plus for our trip. Perfect organization on the ground, punctual drivers, timing respected, professionalism of the guides whose comments fueled our desire to learn even more about the history of this wonderful country once we got back to France. The accommodation was flawless, hotels always very well located and comfortable. Two consecutive nights in the Salar de Uyuni, experienced authentically in refuges with basic but by no means uncomfortable comfort. A fabulous experience amid breathtaking, extraordinary landscapes. All the visits will remain forever etched in our memory. The visit to the Potosi mines, a moving glimpse into the life of these miners. Lake Titicaca offering us striking, ever-changing landscapes. The Death Road, impressive and frightening, with a foray into a lush and majestic Amazon. In short, nothing but happiness. Looking through the photos (more than 2000) is a real joy, and whenever we show them to our friends we make sure to mention that we were able to take this unforgettable tour thanks to Paprika Tours and your professionalism.
Thanks again. Best wishes.
Christiane, Liliane and André.

This nature reserve covers more than 600,000 hectares between 300 and 3,200 m in altitude and is home to an exceptional variety of flora and fauna. Check-in at the “Refuge des Volcans” eco-lodge, hidden at the bottom of a deep valley. In the afternoon, hike in the park. You can also take a dip in the waterfall next to the lodge. Overnight at the lodge.
In the morning, set off on a roughly 7-hour hike where you'll enjoy superb views of ochre rock cliffs, subtropical forest, and waterfalls, some of which can reach 100 m. Overnight at the lodge.
Free morning at the lodge. After lunch, departure by private vehicle to the charming village of Samaipata, located at the foot of the Bolivian Andes at 1,650 meters in altitude and on the edge of the tropical forest. Check-in at the Landhous guesthouse. Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning, departure for the “El Fuerte” archaeological site. You will visit this ancient fortress built by the Incas to control invasions by the Guarani people. Return to Samaipata. In the afternoon, return by private vehicle to Santa Cruz, the most developed city and economic engine of Bolivia. Check-in and overnight at the Puerta de Hierro hotel.
In the morning, transfer from your hotel to the airport and flight to Sucre. Arrival and transfer to the Capital Plaza hotel, in the heart of the city. In the afternoon, you will visit this pleasant colonial city, which is still officially the capital of Bolivia, even though in practice it has been superseded by La Paz.
You will go to the Recoleta viewpoint, which offers a beautiful view over the whole city. In the historic center, you will see the textile museum, which displays a variety of Andean fabrics and shows the different techniques used by pre-Columbian and present-day peoples. Finally, you will visit the Casa de la Libertad, a museum on the history of Bolivia housed in the building where the country's independence was declared in 1809. Overnight at the hotel.
Free day to fully enjoy the charm of this colonial city, arguably the most beautiful in Bolivia. Overnight at the hotel.
If you are in Sucre on a Sunday, the tour may be adapted to visit the village of Tarabuco, an hour and a half from the city, where an important indigenous market is held.
In the morning, departure by bus to Potosi (3-hour drive). Arrival and check-in at the Coloso Potosi hotel. In the afternoon, you set off to explore the famous mines of Potosi, from which a colossal quantity of silver was extracted during the colonial era. In Spanish, the expression "to be worth a Potosi" was the equivalent of being worth its weight in gold. After Bolivia's independence, mining of the deposit continued, and it still continues today. You will enter the galleries to see the activity of present-day miners. Overnight at the hotel.
Departure by bus to Uyuni (approximately 4-5 hours' drive). Transfer to the Tambo Aymara hotel and free time at the end of the day in this small town on the Bolivian altiplano, located at 3,600 meters in altitude. Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning, you set off by 4x4 vehicle towards the Uyuni Salt Flat. You will first pass through Colchani, on the edge of the Salar, where salt is extracted by traditional methods. Then your 4x4 will head out onto this white immensity and cross a large part of the salt flat to reach Incahuasi Island, nearly 80 kilometers away. Climbing to the top of this “island”, you will discover an exceptional 360-degree view over the salt flat. Certainly the highlight of this Bolivia tour. You will enjoy a picnic lunch in this extraordinary setting, then continue on to the village of San Juan. Dinner and overnight in a refuge (basic comfort).
Early breakfast and departure for the tour of the altiplano lagoons of Cañapa, Hedionda, Chiarcota, Honda, and Ramadita, where you can observe pink flamingos. Then you cross the Siloli desert with a stop at the “Stone Tree”, and have lunch along the way. In the late afternoon, you will arrive at Laguna Colorada, with its almost surreal red color. Overnight and dinner in a refuge (basic comfort).
Very early in the morning, you begin the day with a visit to the “Sol de Mañana Geysers”, a magnificent natural spectacle at 4,900 meters in altitude. You then head to the Polques hot springs, where you can bathe in thermal pools. You will continue on towards Laguna Verde and Laguna Blanca, with an impressive view of the Licancabur volcano on the border between Chile and Bolivia, then cross the Dali desert. On the way back, you will pass through the Valley of the Rocks, where you will admire the gigantic rocks with their fantastical shapes. Return to Uyuni in the late afternoon. Overnight at the Tambo Aymara hotel in Uyuni.
In the morning, transfer to the airport, flight to La Paz and transfer to the Rosario hotel. In the afternoon, tour of La Paz. The Bolivian capital spreads through a valley with a striking landscape and steep terrain, between 3,200 and 4,000 meters in altitude. At the bottom of the city, the natural site of the Moon Valley is formed by hundreds of thin rocky spires shaped over time by erosion. You will then head to the Kilikili viewpoint, which overlooks the whole city of La Paz, then visit the historic center, with Murillo Square, home to the presidential palace, and the area around Sagarnaga Street, where the famous “witches' market” is held year-round. Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning, departure by private vehicle for a journey of a good hour to the east of La Paz. You then take a walking route for a 2-3 hour hike, during which you can observe the rural landscapes of this fertile valley, the multicolored rock formations typical of the region, Nevado Illimani (6,480 meters) and the canyon, which you will cross to reach the village of Palca. An off-the-beaten-path hike to discover a little-known rural side of Bolivia. Picnic lunch and return to La Paz in the afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.
In the morning, departure by private vehicle to the Tiwanaku archaeological site, the political and spiritual center of a civilization that preceded the Incas and an essential archaeological site on a Bolivia tour. Visit the millennia-old, enigmatic ruins of the Gate of the Sun and the Kalasasaya Temple, as well as the site museum. Return to La Paz in the afternoon and overnight at the hotel.
