Itinerary: Lima – Cuzco – Sacred Valley of the Incas - Machu Picchu – Lima.
Price per person from 1490 USD
Welcome at Lima airport. Transfer to the Britania hotel in the Miraflores district. Overnight at the hotel. If your international flight arrives in the morning, it is possible to arrange a tour of Lima or a transfer to Cuzco on the very first day of the trip.
In the morning, transfer to Lima airport and flight to Cuzco. Transfer and check-in at the San Agustín Internacional hotel in the historic center. In the afternoon, you'll visit the city of Cuzco, which was the capital of the Inca empire and remains certainly one of the most fascinating cities in Peru and South America. The tour will begin at the Sacsayhuaman fortress, perhaps the most impressive of the Inca structures, overlooking Cuzco. You'll then walk back down through the narrow streets of San Blas, admiring the Inca-era walls, including the famous twelve-angled stone. You'll cross the entire historic center to the San Pedro market, an ideal place to soak up Cuzco's Andean atmosphere. Overnight at the hotel.
This walking tour can be replaced by the traditional visit of the small Inca ruins (Kenko, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay) and the Koricancha, with all transportation by vehicle.
The trip continues with the discovery of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. There you'll visit Pisaq with its large craft market and, above all, its great Inca citadel overlooking the valley, the Moray terraces, built by the Incas for agricultural use, the Maras salt pans, where salt is still extracted using traditional methods, and the village of Ollantaytambo with its Inca fortress, perched on a rocky spur. Overnight at the Samanapaq hotel.
Early in the morning, train journey along the Urubamba River to Aguas Calientes, the village at the foot of Machu Picchu, from where you'll reach the Machu Picchu site by bus. This is certainly one of the tourist highlights of South America and the high point of any trip to Peru. The Inca citadel, forgotten for several centuries, fascinates travelers as much for its mysteries as for its beauty. You'll discover this extraordinary site during the morning and return to Cuzco by train in the afternoon. Transfer and overnight at the San Agustín Internacional hotel.
This last day of your trip to Peru gives you free time to enjoy the charm of Cuzco, a city with a unique character where narrow streets blend colonial and Inca architecture, and which offers an enormous amount to see and do. Overnight at the hotel.
